How do we review and rate service providers?
The main goal of Spotless Choice is to give Home Improvement Ideas, Tips, Decor Guidelines, and unbiased reviews of home products. From there, we work to turn what we’ve learned into a resource that homeowners, renters, landlords, real estate professionals, and other readers can use easily and that gives them power.
At the head of our research process is a rating system that gives each of the providers we look at a grade based on how well they do in different categories. For example, when we grade home warranty companies, gutters and gutter guards, and moving companies, to name a few, we look at many different things. Our in-house research team uses only factually correct public data sources, verified policyholder testimonials, and anonymous homeowner experience surveys for all of the information they use to back up their claims.
Here is an overview of our overall composite rating system and what each level, from zero to five stars, means:
★★★★★ Outstanding
★★★★☆ Excellent
★★★☆☆ Average
Not as Good as Others
★☆☆☆☆ Poor
Our number one goal
Our number one goal is to be honest with you, our readers. Even though we may get paid when you buy Affiliate Products, as explained below, we still try to give you our honest thoughts, findings, beliefs, and experiences about the products and services that are featured on the Site.
House Method has made every effort to give true and accurate information about all of the products or services it mentions, reviews, or recommends on this Site.

Affiliate Disclosure of Payment
This Affiliate Compensation Disclosure is provided by House Method and its affiliates, including, but not limited to, both mobile and online versions of our websites (collectively referred to herein as the “Site”, “we”, or “us”). Its purpose is to explain House Method’s financial relationship with affiliates, advertisers, sponsors, and other third parties that appear on the Site (collectively, referred to herein as “Affiliates”), as required by the Federal Trade Commission.
We put up this Affiliate Compensation Disclosure because we get money and other kinds of compensation from affiliates for the advertising, sponsorships, insertion orders, and promotional campaigns that we feature on the Site. So, there is a paid link between some of the products or services mentioned, reviewed, or recommended on this site and the Affiliate (i.e., the owner of that third-party product or service). If you decide to buy the product or service mentioned on the Site, House Method may get more money from the Affiliate.
Also, the Site posts or promotes content, such as editorial content, that may feature products and services from third parties (“Affiliate Products”) and may link to websites owned and run by third parties where you can buy Affiliate Products. If you click on a link to an Affiliate’s Product on the Site and then go to the Affiliate’s website to buy an Affiliate Product, House Method may get paid by the Affiliate selling the Affiliate Product. The content on the Site that features Affiliate Products may not always be marked as paid or sponsored content, and the money we get from Affiliates may affect what content, topics, or posts we make on the Site and where we put them.
You may also see ads from other companies on the Site. Every time you click on one of these ads, even if you don’t buy anything from the third party, we will get money from the third party advertiser.
